RED Friday's Man of the Year 2024. Canadian Armed Forces Veterans Supporting Public Safety, Military, and Veteran Communities RED's Chad Kennedy Friday's 2024 Man of the Year. Chad understands military and police enforcement mental health issues as a veteran with PTSD. His new aim is to raise awareness, finances, and support for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTS) and other mental health disorders. Chad's Story: Service to Advocacy Starting in 2004, Chad served on the Alberta Sheriff Highway Patrol. A post-traumatic stress injury (PTSI) from responding to a horrible incident in the Canadian Rockies changed his life in July 2020. This tragedy made Chad endure his mental health issues, a thing many veterans suffer daily.
Following his 2018 PTSD and anxiety diagnosis, Chad concluded that invisible wound survivors need additional assistance. His August 2020 experience showed that loved ones, despite their best intentions, often struggle to grasp mental health injuries. The Vision of Chad: A Change Journey Across Canada Inspired to change, Chad is walking across Canada with fellow veterans to raise PTS and mental health awareness. He has three goals: Raise money for therapy. Create instructional programs for affected loved ones and friends. Sharing stories promotes empathy and understanding. Chad promotes military, veterans, and public safety workers (nurses, doctors, prison officials, police, peace officers, firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, and dispatchers). He feels these communities may get assistance by sharing stories and speaking out.
Chad Kennedy, RED Friday's 2024 Man of the Year, is resilient, empathetic, and determined. His story illustrates that not all wounds are visible and that by working together, we can change the lives of those who have committed their lives to serving others.ontent
